I suggest Alice Rossi to every tourist for her enthusiasm. She is a young and serious professionist about Parma and food.
“Best day of the trip”
Alice Rossi was our guide on the gourmet food tour. From the moment we met at 8.30 am at the Pallazzo dalla Rosa Prati in Parma she was friendly, welcoming, efficient, fun to spend time with, extremely knowledgeable about the history, culture, geography of the region and also every aspect of the gourmet tour we undertook. It was a real pleasure to spend the day with Alice. We visited a Parmiggiano Reggiano producer, a balsamic vinegar producer and a Parma ham producer. Followed by lunch at a local winery and then to top it off a stunningly beautiful castle which was not on our itinerary, but which Alice insisted on bringing us to because she felt we would not get the true feeling of the place without a guide. We even got the love story behind the monument. Many thanks Alice for a truly great day. I would recommend this tour group, but mostly Alice to anyone travelling to Parma. Grazie Mila
Last minute request to do a cheese, ham, wine and food tour of Parma as we had only one day. Our hotel hooked us up with Alice Rossi and she filled what may be our best day of the nearly three months we've been in Italy! Wonderful person, knowledgable guide, great language skills, and now a great friend. We now know more about Parma Parmesan cheese, Parma prosciutto, Parma wines, Parma beers and local food and history that we could even imagine. She's an awesome person and outstanding guide.
“The Best Part of Our Trip to Italy”
My wife and I loved, LOVED our tours with Exploraemilla! Our guide Alice did an outstanding job sharing the best of the region with us. We did both the Truffle Hunting Tour and the Piacenza Hills Tour. In both cases Alice showed us not only the beauty and history of the area, but introduced us to many purveyors of the local specialties. It was evident that Alice has a good rapport with her vendors. At every stop we were greeted as honored guests not distracting tourists. It was a treat to not only try the best products of the region, but meet the people who dedicate there lives to producing them. Their passion and pride were always on display. Alice was tireless in her efforts to make our time in Parma the best it could be. From the first friendly email to our thoughtful farewell gift she never failed to deliver beyond our expectations. Do yourself a favor. If you're going to be visiting Italy make time to stop in Parma and let Alice show you around. Despite being the least "touristy" destination we visited she made it the highlight of our trip!
“A must do in Parma!”
My husband and I just did this tour with Alice Rossi yesterday, and it is one of the best tours we've ever taken. Seeing the processes for making Parma ham, parmigiano reggiano cheese and traditional balsamic vinegar was very interesting, and Alice was the perfect guide as she is so knowledgable and eager to answer any questions. The lunch we had at the winery was delicious and we sampled many local specialities: sparkling wines, handmade pastas and of course delicious prosciutto and other meats. I cannot recommend this tour enough, you must go for yourself and learn about (and taste!) the amazing food of Parma. Good for families, friends, couples, foodies, or anyone who just wants a nice day out in Parma with a friendly local who is passionate about food and wine. Another plus: my husband and I were the only ones on the tour with Alice and we passed by a huge group touring the same factory. So much better to have a small group rather than being crammed
“Private, Informative and Amazing”
If you're interested in Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, Parma ham and Traditional Balsamic Vinegar I highly recommend a tour with Alice Rossi. She speaks English very well and is friendly, professional and super knowledgeable. Thanks to her we were able to learn and come to appreciate the efforts and the standard to which each of these are made. It's wasn't commercial or touristy, at no point in the tour did we ever feel rushed or pressured to buy anything. Our tour was a morning private tour trip. She picked us up directly from where we were staying and since we didn't rent a car there, she drove us in her car through the beautiful countryside directly to each of the DOP producers she picked out. We were able to have tastings of each of these. They were all so amazingly delicious! I was especially blown away by the traditional balsamic vinegar since I haven't tried it before. With only one drop it had such great complex flavor. It was a wonderful experience and we were able to get an in-depth understanding about these delicious gems. She was also very patient in answering all our questions about the local area, and even about how to cook risotto we bought as a souvenir. She also had excellent recommendations on dining back in town. We had an absolutely wonderful time, almost like a friend driving us around to see sights around the city. On top of all of that the price was a very good deal compared to some of the other tours I found online. If I had a chance to visit Parma again I would definitely go on another tour.
