Artistical experiences Bologna is wonderful!!!
guida turistica bologna

Our tour starts in Piazza Nettuno with the famous Fountain of Neptune designed by Giambologna. We then head to Piazza Maggiore to admire the symbols of the city: the Palazzo Comunale (the city hall), the Palazzo del Podestà (the Town’s Court) and the Palazzo del Re Enzo (which takes its name from the captivity of Enzo, king of Sardinia). And don’t miss the Gothic basilica of San Petronio, the third-largest church in Italy.

Walking along the Pavaglione Portico, we come to the 16th-century Palazzo Archiginnasio (the old university building) and its 17th-century anatomic theatre. Next we reach the lovely square of Santo Stefano and its medieval complex of seven small Romanesque churches, also called the “Sancta Hierusalem”. The picturesque alleys of the Mercato di Mezzo (the old market), lined with gourmet shops, lead us to the church of Santa Maria della Vita and its remarkable sculpture by Nicolò dell’Arca, “Compianto sul Cristo Morto”. We finish at the city’s two towers: the Garisenda and the Asinelli, from which you can view Bologna from above. But if you’d like to discover more of the city, you can personalize your tour by adding visits to the Church of Santo Domenico, the National Picture Gallery, the Sanctuary of the Madonna of San Luca and many other worthwhile sites…
